1. Agreement to These Terms
By submitting a service request through thetradefindr — whether via our website or WhatsApp — you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions. These terms govern the relationship between you (the customer) and thetradefindr, Cape Town, South Africa. thetradefindr acts as an intermediary: we source, vet, and coordinate qualified tradespeople on your behalf. We are not a construction company and do not directly employ the tradespeople who carry out your job.
2. Service Requests
All service requests must be submitted through our official website form or WhatsApp channel. Once we receive your request, a thetradefindr representative will confirm your details, provide a quote, and schedule a suitable tradesperson. We do not guarantee same-day availability.
3. Deposit & Payment Policy
3.1 Booking Deposit. A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total quoted amount is required before any job is scheduled. No work will be scheduled without a confirmed deposit payment.
3.2 Balance Payment. The remaining 50% balance is due on the day of job completion, before the tradesperson leaves your property, via EFT.
3.3 Timely Payment. Failure to pay the balance on completion may result in suspension of your account and referral for debt recovery.
3.4 Accepted Payment Methods. Payments are processed via EFT to the thetradefindr business account. Cash payments are not accepted.
4. Cancellations & Rescheduling
4.1 Customer Cancellations. Cancellations more than 48 hours before the scheduled time: deposit credited to a future booking. Within 48 hours: deposit forfeited.
4.2 Rescheduling. No penalty if 48+ hours notice. Within 48 hours treated as a late cancellation.
4.3 thetradefindr-Initiated Cancellations. Full deposit refund and priority rescheduling at no additional cost.
5. Contractor No-Show Policy
If a tradesperson fails to arrive without prior notice, you are entitled to a full deposit refund and priority rescheduling. Report no-shows via WhatsApp within 2 hours. Contractors found to have no-showed without valid justification are subject to suspension or removal from our network.
6. Scope of Work & Warranty
All work is based on the agreed scope at quoting. Additional work must be quoted and approved before it commences. Faults directly attributable to completed work reported within 14 days will receive a callback at no cost. Does not cover damage from misuse or normal wear and tear.
7. Limitation of Liability
thetradefindr's total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific job. Not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
8. Privacy & Your Information
Information provided is used solely to manage your booking. We do not sell your data. Contact details may be shared with the assigned tradesperson only.
9. Dispute Resolution
Contact us via WhatsApp or info@thetradefindr.com within 7 days of job completion. Unresolved disputes referred to South African consumer protection framework under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.
10. Governing Law
Governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Jurisdiction: courts of Cape Town, Western Cape.
